We wanted to briefly illustrate some applications we've designed for our clients. With their permission, an assortment of client projects is outlined below.

.NET Web Applications

Developed: 2004 - 2007

Prospect Manager Online contact management system for a German consulting firm specializing in promoting and selling construction projects that use renewable energy sources.	Highlights Currently used by two separate prospecting projects. Easy access to comprehensive information for thousands of contacts. Extensive search and filter function. Various levels of user permissions. Export to Excel function.
Imagical A hosted service that allows everyone to manage photos on their websites. For more information visit www.imagical.ca	Highlights User can upload photos as they are; program automatically sizes and optimizes images for the web. User can add and edit individual captions to thumbnail and enlarged images. Program offers many options to customize appearance in target website. Using inline frame (iframe) technique the resulting thumbnail and enlargement/slideshow pages integrate seamlessly with any website. Online subscription with link to payment gateway (TD / Beanstream) Program utilizes COM component for image preparation.
Online Product Catalog Website with web-based admin section for an equipment brokerage firm. For more information visit the inventory section at ForesTech.	Highlights Products are listed by group with summary information and link to detail pages. Detail pages include technical data, up to six thumbnail images that show enlargements when user slides over small picture. Link to slide show in large-size format. The web-based admin interface uses the same technology as in Imagical, i.e., user can upload photos as they are, and program creates the four different sized images used on the site.
Merlinus Website Company website where most parts are updated directly from the in-house project and web manager.	Highlights News, Tools, and Client Area pages are created dynamically. Client Area displays personalized content for select customers. These pages include a list of current projects with status and version information, links to downloadable programs, and access to our "to-do"-list to keep a close eye on all project details.

E-commerce Solutions	Customized off-the-shelf shopping cart for two retailers: Island Rain Hats Destiny Glass
Online financing for businesses	Highlights Provides a method for entrepreneurs and professionals, such as, accountants and lawyers, to apply for financing online. Includes an extensive set of user and administrative interfaces. Three-level hierarchy: affiliates - professionals - individuals.

WebWizard Solutions

Merlinus WebWizard

This concept employs easy-to-use Windows programs (mostly VB) to collect and store information in Access databases that are then used online as a source for Active Server Pages (ASP).

Highlights

Takes advantage of the power and comfort of desktop programs that can often be developed faster and therefore less expensively than web-based admin interfaces.
Desktop program includes several image manipulation features similar to the functions provided in Imagical. An FTP component handles uploading of database and images behind the scenes. Online Test environment allows user to preview changes before switching to Live.
Used to create many sections on the City of Campbell River website. Other examples that use WebWizard include:

Creates agendas, minutes, and follow-up for local government meetings.

Highlights

Used by the City of Campbell River for all council and some committee meetings between 2001 and 2006. The adaptation for the Regional District of Comox-Strathcona manages all board and committee meetings and went live in January 2005.
Streamlines the entire process to save time, labor, and paper, and is a first step toward a paperless system.
Replaces Word-based systems with a database where all the itemized information is stored.
One button-click to convert an agenda to minutes.
Extensive search and filter functions.
Administrator and "Manager" versions.
Sophisticated permission settings and data filtering to give authorized users access to open, in-camera, and restricted meetings.
Detail information can be attached to each item as PDF.

Local Government	Projects Development Applications (Planning) Creates and keeps track of applications and associated documents. Recycling Reports (Operational Services) Processes recycling data for easy comparison. Building and Plumbing Permits and Reports Rebuilt previous McIntosh version as Windows program Record Management (Administration) Enhanced existing database to streamline data entry and retrieval. Municipal Service Locations (Engineering) Central registry for water, drain (storm), and sanitary service locations. Various Permits (Engineering) Facilitates the creation and distribution of permits, such as, blasting permits, road closure permits, and water shutdown permits. Work Orders(Public Works) Creates and keeps track of work orders.
Aquaculture	Sales and Harvest Actual and anticipated sales information is now readily available from one central program, which replaces an extensive system of Excel spreadsheets. Equipment Inventory Manages farm site and office inventory. Net Tracking Comprehensive information about all nets. Library Index Houses document and website references for the Fish Health department.
Logging and Forestry	Training and Certification System Tracks employee training and certification. Work Orders and Maintenance Creates and manages work orders and keeps track of regular service requirements. Purchase Orders Issues and manages purchase orders.
Mining	Environmental Monitoring Processes and stores water and soil testing results based on lab reports and field measurements. Data Logger Converts and reformats log file information provided by a monitoring station and creates complex Excel workbooks on demand.
Service and Consulting	Vehicle Towing Keeps track of all towing activities and the location of impounded vehicles. Order Handling Retrieves and manages online orders and creates invoices. Pump Station Inspection Records and report the condition of each pump. Total Returns Marketing A comprehensive contact management system for financial advisors.
Tourism	Add-on to the Resort Program PARCS Enhancements and add-ons, such as, special reports and modified invoicing to reflect the correct currency.
Non Profit	Housing Needs Survey Collection of detailed statistics based on a survey. Women in Business Collection of detailed statistics based on a survey.
