| Description: |
Lehigh needed a method to track and compare environmental data accumulated at various sites.
Test results, emanating from many sources including laboratories and field workers, are compared, selected, sorted, and grouped in an assortment of ways.
Raw data essentially comes to the office in two forms: on paper or in a spreadsheet; therefore, two transfer methods are required to unite all the data.
- A data entry form with supporting tables is used to transfer site inspection data from paper to database.
- A special function loads and converts the lab data from Excel format and adds it to the database.
Once the data is moved, it must be analyzed to ensure each entry is correctly formatted. If the program is unable to determine with certainty the correct interpretation, it invites manual confirmation.
When all data has been correctly transferred and centralized in one database, Lehigh can compare and filter in any number of ways, including uploading it back into spreadsheets. |
